2012: Looking Back

2012 was a crazy year for me. I have a completely different life from January 2012. Sometimes I can’t wrap my head around how I use to live and how I thought I was content with my life. I think people call it settling. Well, I am 100x happier now and I can’t imagine my life any other way.

Hilights. Lowlights. Looking back at the year that was 2012:

–Started Project 365
–Learned the hard way about dehydration and wound up in the hospital for a day
–Found running again
–Ended a 2.5 year relationship
–Quit my job at Walmart
–Moved back in with my parents
–Started work at Independent Printing
–Ran the Cellcom Half Marathon
–Reconnected with MANY old friends
–Amazing family vacation up north
–Watched so much of the Olympics
–Met and started dating Ryan
–Got a new car!
–Went back to school/completed my first semester with a 3.77 GPA!
–Ran the Fox Cities Marathon!
–Started an Internship
–Visited a new state: Iowa!

This was a year of lots of changes and lots of accomplishments. Some changes were scary, as most changes are, but they were all necessary. I can’t wait to see what 2013 brings!

2012 Goals- Update

Well, we are three weeks into the new year and I thought I would give an update on my goals.

I’ve been doing pretty good at taking pictures everyday. I thought this would be a struggle, but it hasn’t been too hard. The goal I have been slacking in is my book reading. I haven’t even finished one book yet! Yikes, I better get my act together with that goal.

I have also added a couple goals to the list:

Goal #3- Eat healthy. I usually eat pretty healthy, but I tend to eat a lot of sweets. So I made myself a little chart called Don’t Eat a Sweet sheet. If I go all day without eating a sweet, I get a smiley face! I am using a weekend day as my cheat day. It’s kinda lame, but it has been working so far and I feel great!

Goal #4- Run 2-3 times/week. I know, I know, I was running everyday before. Well, that was before I hurt my knee. It hasn’t been the same sense. I have elliptical-ing for mosg of my workouts, but I can run for about 3 miles before it hurts. And I have to remember that I can run. So every other day or every three days I wanna run.

Goal #5- Be more organized and keep a better house. This one I think will be the hardest, but will certainly pay off. I moved into my boyfriends house soon after we started going out. It’s a small house, and there really isn’t room for a lot of extra stuff. But miraculously, we have accumulated a lot of extra stuff. I hope this year to get into a cleaning routine and organize the house more effectively. I’ve never really been a cleaner, but I deep cleaned the bathroom recently and it was great! So I think it will be okay. I want to make a cleaning schedule and write it in my planner so I don’t forget.

So those are a few other goals I have. It’s only month one, so hopefully i can continue with these goals through the year!
